FAQ

Welcome to our Tabarka Airport FAQ. Below you’ll find clear answers about visas, money, transport, check-in, luggage, SIM cards, Wi-Fi and more. For live flight status, see Arrivals and Departures.

Do I need a visa to enter Tunisia?

Visa rules depend on your nationality. Always check your government’s advice and your airline before you travel. Your passport should have sufficient validity and blank pages.

What currency is used at Tabarka Airport?

Tunisia uses the Tunisian dinar (TND). ATMs and exchange services typically operate around flight times. Many shops prefer cash for small purchases.

Is there Wi-Fi at TBJ?

Public Wi-Fi is typically available in main areas of the terminal. Speeds can vary during peak times.

Can I buy a local SIM at the airport?

Availability can be seasonal. You’ll usually find competitive data plans in Tabarka town; ask your hotel for the nearest shop if airport kiosks are closed.

How early should I arrive for my flight?

For most short-haul or charter services, plan to be at the airport around 2 hours before departure (earlier in peak season). If your airline offers online check-in, complete it in advance and use bag-drop where available.

What are the hand luggage rules?

Typical rules apply: liquids up to 100 ml each in a 1-liter transparent bag; laptops and large electronics scanned separately. Power banks must be in cabin baggage.

How do I get from the airport to Tabarka or Aïn Draham?

Taxis usually wait outside Arrivals; agree the fare before you go (cash in TND is common). Many hotels run shuttles in season. Driving to Tabarka takes roughly 15–20 minutes; to Aïn Draham allow more time for mountain roads. See Transport for details.

Is car rental available at TBJ?

Yes—on-airport agencies typically operate around flight schedules. Bring your driving licence, passport, and a credit card for deposits. See Car rental for tips.

Where can I meet arriving passengers?

The terminal is compact. Check the live Arrivals board just before you leave, pick a clear meeting point in the arrivals hall, and allow time for passport control and baggage delivery.

Is there parking at the airport?

Short-stay parking is next to the terminal. Spaces may be busier during weekend changeovers—budget a few extra minutes.

What if my luggage is delayed or damaged?

Report it immediately at your airline’s baggage desk in the arrivals area and complete a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) before leaving the secure zone.

How do I get special assistance?

If you need mobility assistance (PRM), notify your airline at least 48 hours before travel. On the day, follow the signs to the assistance point or the instructions provided by your airline.

Are there lounges at Tabarka Airport?

Facilities are basic and seasonal. Check with your airline or tour operator for any lounge access options linked to your ticket.

Can I bring sports equipment (golf/diving gear)?

Most airlines carry sports gear for an extra fee. Declare it at check-in, arrive early, and follow staff directions for oversize baggage.

Are there shops and places to eat?

Expect cafés/snacks and a small selection of stores with seasonal hours. For a wider choice, plan to eat in town before heading to the airport.

Is smoking allowed?

Only in designated outdoor areas. Follow local signage and staff guidance.
